Pakistan, Bangladesh Play Goalless Draw in Maldives Football Tournament
MALE: Pakistan and Bangladesh played to a 0-0 draw in the four-nation Diamond Jubilee International Football Tournament currently underway in the Maldivian capital.
The match was a hard-fought contest, with both the Pakistan ‘Shaheens’ and the ‘Bengal Tigers’ of Bangladesh creating multiple scoring opportunities. However, excellent defensive work from both sides prevented any goals, resulting in the teams sharing one point each.
Pakistan is next scheduled to face the host nation, Maldives, on June 4 at 4:00 PM Pakistan time. The team’s final group stage match will be against Afghanistan on June 7. The top two teams from the tournament will advance to the final on June 10.
