Over 20 PTI lawmakers in KP reportedly unhappy with CM Afridi

More than 20 members of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly are reportedly dissatisfied with Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s performance, citing issues with governance and party affairs.

Sources claim the disgruntled lawmakers are concerned about the deteriorating law and order situation and the chief minister’s perceived failure to control the provincial bureaucracy, which they allege takes direction from the federal government. Grievances also include the unfair distribution of funds and delays in cabinet expansion.

In response, Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan dismissed the reports of a rift as “false, fabricated, and baseless,” insisting that all MPAs are united behind the chief minister, who enjoys the full confidence of the PTI founder.

Chief Minister Afridi has now summoned a parliamentary party meeting, urging all members to attend. The meeting is expected to provide a platform for the unhappy lawmakers to voice their concerns directly to the leadership.
