Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman Holds Press Conference

Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has threatened to call for a nationwide strike if the government does not abolish the petroleum levy. Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, he condemned the recent hike in petroleum product prices as an injustice, accusing the government of increasing prices to conceal its own incompetence and corruption.

Rehman stated that the government is collecting Rs 105 per person through the levy at the behest of the IMF. He criticized the administration for its lavish spending, destroying educational institutions, and revoking public medical facilities, urging it to establish empowered local governments.
