Civilian Plane Crash in France Kills 11 People

A civilian aircraft carrying skydivers crashed near the town of Tomblaine in northeastern France on Sunday, killing all 11 people on board. Local authorities confirmed the fatalities included the pilot, five instructors, and five students from a parachutist school.

The German-registered aircraft went down in a grassy area near the runway of the Nancy-Essey aerodrome. There were no bystanders among the victims.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear, and a technical investigation has been opened. Medical and psychological support teams were dispatched to the airfield to assist relatives and witnesses. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez was expected to visit the scene.
