The frequent seismic activity in the region is attributed to Pakistan’s location at the intersection of three major tectonic plates: the Arabian, Eurasian, and Indian. This geological setting, with multiple fault lines, makes tectonic movements a common occurrence.

Earlier this year, the region experienced a 5.7 magnitude earthquake in April, which was preceded by a 6.1 magnitude tremor also originating from the Hindu Kush region.
