FIA Arrests Man for Selling Citizens’ Sensitive Data to Foreign Agencies

The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Counter-Terrorism Wing in Karachi has arrested a member of an organized digital network accused of selling sensitive data of Pakistani citizens to foreign intelligence agencies.

The network, which includes both local and foreign individuals, is allegedly involved in trafficking sensitive information from NADRA, Passport and Immigration databases, and mobile phone users. According to the FIA, the group used various social media platforms to establish contact with foreign agencies and received payments through cryptocurrency and digital wallets.

Officials stated the network was also involved in digital financial fraud against Pakistani citizens. The FIA was able to trace the digital wallets to make the arrest. A case has been registered against the suspect, and an investigation is underway to apprehend other members of the network.
