Pakistan, Ghana Vow to Boost Defence Cooperation, Counter-Terrorism Training

Pakistan and Ghana have renewed their commitment to strengthen defence cooperation, with a particular focus on joint counter-terrorism training and defence production.

The pledge was made during a visit by Ghana’s Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, to the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi for a meeting with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The visiting dignitary was presented with a Guard of Honour upon his arrival.

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Agyapong praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and their role in regional stability. Ghana’s National Security Coordinator, Abdul Razak Osman, who accompanied the defence chief, also held separate meetings with Pakistan’s naval and air force chiefs, Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

Upon his arrival, the visiting military chief was presented with a Guard of Honour by a Tri-Services contingent. During the engagement, Lieutenant General Agyapong praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their role in promoting regional stability.
