Zaman Awan Disassociates From Banned Awami Action Committee

Anjum Zaman Awan, a core committee member of the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee, has announced his disassociation from the group. In a video message, Awan urged the youth to reject what he called the politics of chaos and claimed that anti-Pakistan forces were behind the movement’s slogans.

He stated that the group’s peaceful protest had been diverted towards lawlessness. Awan is the second core committee member to publicly leave the organization, following a similar announcement by Amjad Ali Khan Advocate.
