Senator Faisal Vawda on Saturday demanded the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, alleging that a relative of Dar is implicated in a case involving the rape and assault of foreign women.

In his statement, Vawda claimed that a person he described as Dar’s “alleged grandson” was arrested on accusations of rape, assault, and extortion following the intervention of a foreign embassy. Reports have named one of the arrested individuals as Raza Dar in connection with the alleged kidnapping and gang-rape of foreign women in Lahore’s DHA area.

The senator further alleged that efforts were being made to suppress the case by focusing the investigation on extortion charges rather than rape, and that there were plans to repatriate the foreign complainants quickly.

Vawda questioned the delay in making a statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure public and suggested that medical reports could be manipulated. He criticised the country’s political leadership for what he termed “elite capture” and condemned the silence of political parties and women’s rights organisations on the matter.

According to available reports, no immediate response has been issued by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar or his office regarding Vawda’s allegations. The claims have not yet been independently verified.
