Iran’s foreign ministry has stated that progress in resolving tensions with the United States remains slow due to deep mistrust, inconsistent messages from Washington, and ongoing Israeli military actions in the region. A ministry spokesperson said talks are being complicated by shifting US positions and that any agreement to de-escalate must include a full ceasefire in Lebanon, where Israel has renewed attacks.

In retaliation for recent US strikes on its southern regions, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards announced they had targeted a US military base in Kuwait. Iranian officials have warned neighboring countries against allowing their territory to be used for attacks on Iran and reiterated that a ceasefire violation on any front, including Lebanon, would be considered a violation on all fronts.
