Pakistan’s annual inflation rate surged to 11.66% in May 2026, marking a 23-month high, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Statistics. This represents a significant increase from the 10.89% recorded in April 2026 and the 3.5% rate in May of the previous year.
On a month-on-month basis, inflation rose by 0.52% in May. The annual inflation rate was recorded at 11.79% in urban areas and 11.48% in rural areas. The average inflation for the fiscal period from July 2025 to May 2026 stood at 6.69%.
