On Sunday afternoon, an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a police van near Pir Zakorhi Bridge, close to the Peshawar-Islamabad motorway toll plaza. Two police personnel, driver Haider Ali and constable Yousaf, sustained minor injuries and were transported to Lady Reading Hospital, where they were reported to be in stable condition with minor scratches. The police vehicle also sustained damage. Peshawar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Farhan Khan confirmed the blast was caused by a roadside IED concealed in a green belt. The Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) scanned the area, and Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed visited the site and the injured officers.
