Terrorists attack police station in Bannu, injuring four personnel

Terrorists on Wednesday attacked the Miryan Police Station in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, triggering a heavy exchange of fire with security personnel.

Bannu District Police Officer Captain (Retd) Muhammad Furqan Bilal confirmed the incident, stating that four police personnel were injured in the attack. The situation is being assessed, and further details regarding casualties will be shared later.

According to preliminary reports, the attackers attempted to ram a vehicle loaded with explosives into Miryan Police Station, which resulted in a powerful blast. Following the explosion, a heavy exchange of fire continued for a considerable time between the terrorists and police personnel. Security measures in the area were further tightened.

Additional police contingents and members of the Police Peace Committee arrived at the scene. The sound of the explosion was heard from a considerable distance, and the blast also damaged the police station building and nearby residential areas.
