PTI’s Barrister Gohar Khan issues ‘fiery statement’ over hospital transfer delay

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has now spoken out on the matter, issuing what has been described as a "fiery statement" regarding the delay in former Prime Minister Imran Khan's hospital transfer.

Senior PTI leader Asad Qaiser has stated that Imran Khan should be granted a sub-jail facility, guaranteeing there would be no political victimisation. He warned that the government's "stubbornness" on the hospital transfer could put the country's future at risk. Separately, another warning was issued by a party leader, giving a 48-hour timeframe for the former prime minister's transfer to a hospital.

PTI lawyer Salman Akram Raja has warned of a "massive protest" if former Prime Minister Imran Khan is not transferred from Adiala Jail to a hospital as per the Supreme Court's directive. The warning comes as the government's deadline to facilitate the move approaches.

On Tuesday, August 19, reports indicated that the government has been given a deadline of Wednesday, August 20, to comply with the Supreme Court's order to transfer former Prime Minister Imran Khan to a hospital for medical examination.

The planned transfer of former Prime Minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to a hospital in Islamabad has been delayed, according to available reports on Tuesday, August 19.

The move to Shifa International Hospital for a medical examination, ordered by the Supreme Court, has not yet taken place despite earlier preparations, which included the arrival of an ambulance at the jail.

Security has been tightened around Adiala Jail ahead of former Prime Minister Imran Khan's transfer to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for court-ordered medical treatment.

In a related development, PTI leader Sohail Afridi has also warned party workers to refrain from gathering outside the hospital, echoing an earlier advisory from PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan.

An ambulance has arrived at Adiala Jail to transfer former Prime Minister Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. A security plan for the move has been prepared, following the Supreme Court's directive.

Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry confirmed that the court's order will be implemented. Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has advised party workers not to gather outside the hospital.

Following the Supreme Court's order to transfer Imran Khan to a hospital, it has been decided that his room at Shifa International Hospital will be declared a sub-jail. A 20-member staff from Adiala Jail will reportedly remain with him during his stay.
