Security Forces Kill 22 Militants in North Waziristan Operation

Security forces have killed 22 militants in the Shawal area of North Waziristan over the last 24 hours as part of an ongoing intelligence-based sanitization operation. The operation, which began on May 17, has involved intense exchanges of fire between troops and the militants.

A significant cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from the slain terrorists. According to official sources, the militants were reportedly involved in numerous acts of terror.

A statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the militants had used the local population as human shields. It further added that clearance operations in the area are continuing.
