Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif meets MQM delegation to discuss budget

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday to discuss the upcoming federal budget, public welfare projects, and the country’s overall political situation.

The MQM delegation was led by its convener, Federal Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and included senior leaders Farooq Sattar, Syed Amin Ul Haque, and Javed Hanif. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah also attended the meeting.

During the discussions, the MQM representatives presented their proposals for the forthcoming budget. The talks also covered federal development and public welfare projects in Sindh, with a particular focus on Karachi. The prime minister praised the MQM as an important ally, noting that the party has supported all government initiatives aimed at public welfare.

Following the presentation, Prime Minister Sharif directed the relevant authorities to examine the MQM’s budget proposals and formulate a comprehensive and practical strategy. This meeting is part of the government’s broader pre-budget consultations with its coalition partners as it navigates economic challenges and IMF demands.
