In a statement on Saturday, September 12, 2026, Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Aamer Raza commemorated his exceptional courage and supreme sacrifice.

The statement recalled that during the 1965 War, Major Aziz Bhatti defended the Burki sector near Lahore with extraordinary valour for five days and nights, halting the enemy’s advance. The Armed Forces of Pakistan reaffirmed their resolve to defend the country with the same spirit.

Separately, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the Nishan-e-Haider recipient.
