PMDC Announces MDCAT 2026 Schedule, Registration Opens June 22
KARACHI – The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced the schedule for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) for 2026, with the examination set for Sunday, August 16, at 10:00 am. Online registration for candidates will commence on June 22 and close on July 8.
A late registration window will be available until July 13 with an additional fee. The standard registration fee for test centers in Pakistan is Rs9,000, while the late fee is Rs13,000. For the international test center, the fee is Rs45,000. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
The entrance test will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. The paper will include 81 questions from Biology, 45 from Chemistry, 36 from Physics, and nine each from English and Logical Reasoning.
Tests will be conducted by various universities across the country: Sukkur IBA University in Sindh, the University of Health Sciences in Punjab, Khyber Medical University in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Bolan University of Medical & Health Sciences in Balochistan. Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University will manage the exams in Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and at the international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Candidates must select a center within their province or domicile, and the choice cannot be changed later.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has designated specific universities to conduct the MDCAT 2026 across the country. Sukkur IBA University will manage the test in Sindh, the University of Health Sciences Lahore in Punjab, Khyber Medical University Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences in Balochistan. The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University will oversee the examination in Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and for the international center in Riyadh.
Test centers will be established in six cities in Sindh, including Karachi and Hyderabad; 14 cities in Punjab; and eight cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar and Swat. Candidates in Balochistan will take the test in Quetta. The PMDC has stated that once an examination center is selected, it cannot be changed.
