Pakistan’s Foreign Office has confirmed that a high-level delegation will attend the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement meeting in Riyadh on Monday, October 5. The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.
In a statement, the Foreign Office said the meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee will discuss regional developments and review ongoing cooperation. It added that Pakistan's participation signifies its “resolve to continue contributing towards regional peace and stability.”
Ahead of the meeting, DPM Dar arrived in Madina, where he paid respects at the Prophet’s Mosque before proceeding to Riyadh.
