Pakistan Receives First Ro-Ro Shipment with 2,000 Electric Vehicles

Pakistan has received its first-ever Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) shipment, bringing over 2,000 electric vehicles to Karachi Port. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry announced this development, hailing it as a significant milestone in the country's maritime trade. He highlighted that electric vehicles are being imported for the first time via Ro-Ro ships, which allow for direct loading and unloading of vehicles.

Minister Chaudhry stated that modern port facilities, enhanced by such shipments, will further strengthen Pakistan's trade capacity. He added that Karachi Port is progressing towards offering world-class modern shipping services. This new method of import is also expected to lead to savings in time and a reduction in pollution.
