Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar stated on Thursday that Pakistan is becoming a global symbol of peace and stability. He made the remarks while addressing the 983rd annual Ghusl ceremony at the shrine of Hazrat Ali Hujwiri, also known as Data Ganj Bakhsh, in Lahore.

Dar highlighted that the largest expansion project in the shrine’s history is currently underway, crediting Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the initiative. He added that such spiritual gatherings promote love, brotherhood, and stability in society.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that during recent regional tensions, Pakistan played a significant role in mediation and reconciliation, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif leading the efforts. He asserted that Pakistan has been brought out of diplomatic isolation and is now viewed as an effective and responsible state, with its global image shifting from one associated with terrorism to one of peace and a constructive role.

Discussing the economy, Dar recalled that in 2017, Pakistan was ranked the 24th largest economy globally but later fell to 47th due to economic challenges. He said the current government has made economic stability its top priority and is taking measures to overcome these issues. He expressed confidence that Pakistan is once again on the path to stability and strengthening its positive global identity.
