ATC Issues Warrants for KP CM Sohail Afridi in Four More Cases

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad on Thursday issued arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and other PTI leaders in four more cases related to the November 26 protest.

ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain issued the warrants at the request of the police, who stated the arrests were necessary for investigation. The cases are registered at Kohsar, Ramna, Karachi Company, and Aabpara police stations.

Warrants were issued for Sohail Afridi, MNA Shahid Khattak, Salar Kakar, Saddam Tareen, and MPA Amjad Ali in a case at Kohsar Police Station. Non-bailable warrants were also issued for Afridi, PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar, MNA Shahid Khattak, and MNA Atif Khan in cases at Ramna and Karachi Company police stations. A case at Aabpara Police Station names nine leaders, including Sohail Afridi and Junaid Akbar.

Further details have emerged regarding the non-bailable arrest warrants issued by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Islamabad. The warrants are linked to the November 26 case and were issued by Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra because the accused failed to appear before the court.

The parliamentarians named in the warrants include Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) Shahid Khattak, Maulana Naseem Ali Shah, Malik Aamir Dogar, Atif Khan, and Iqbal Afridi. Provincial minister Meena Khan Afridi, ShafiUllah Jan, and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Dr Amjad are also among those sought.

Reports indicate that warrants were issued for a total of 709 accused in addition to the named politicians. The case was registered at the Secretariat police station, and the court has so far recorded the statements of 42 prosecution witnesses.
