Dr. Hasan stated that medical examinations and official medico-legal reports have now confirmed that the woman was not pregnant.

She elaborated that the patient had first visited in February, claiming to be three months pregnant, but an ultrasound at the time returned a negative result. According to Dr. Hasan, the patient later presented an ultrasound report from a different facility which showed a pregnancy, and the decision to operate was based on those external reports after she arrived in the emergency department. The hospital maintains that it was only after the procedure that it was discovered she was not pregnant.

The police investigation into the case is reportedly being hampered by a delay in obtaining a medical report, according to information from August 29.
