Polling was conducted for several vacant local government seats in by-elections held across various districts in Sindh, including Sukkur, Hyderabad, and Jacobabad. The by-elections saw contests between candidates from different political parties, notably the Pakistan Peoples Party and the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. Before polling day, 45 candidates were declared winners unopposed. A significant number of the candidates who won unopposed belong to the Pakistan Peoples Party.
