KPK Budget 2026-27 approved amidst heated session, marked as historic.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to take its dispute over the National Finance Commission (NFC) award to the constitutional court, having hired a lawyer for the case. A provincial spokesperson highlighted that the KP budget contains no “family branding,” contrasting it with Punjab’s budget which allegedly features numerous projects named after the Sharif family.

The new provincial budget proposes several relief measures, including no new taxes, an exemption on property tax for residential and commercial properties up to five marlas, and the abolition of professional tax for government employees in grades 1-6. The budget also maintains tax relief for the merged districts of former FATA and PATA.
