Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Accuses Punjab of Blocking Wheat Supply
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has formally accused Punjab of blocking its wheat supply, sparking an inter-provincial dispute. Suhail Afridi, an aide to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, stated that wheat convoys intended for his province are being stopped by Punjab. He highlighted that while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provides resources such as gas, electricity, and minerals to the rest of the country, it is facing this blockade. Afridi warned that such actions are pushing the province “against the wall” and risk increasing inter-provincial resentment. In response to the situation, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is demanding an end to the blockade and the provision of its rightful share of wheat.
