A Karachi-based trader, Ali Murtaza, was shot and killed in an attack by unidentified assailants in the Dasht area of Balochistan. His wife was also severely wounded in the incident and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.

Reports indicate Murtaza was visiting Quetta with his family for the first time when their vehicle was fired upon. He sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the chest.

His funeral prayers were held at Rehmania Mosque on Tariq Road in Karachi, attended by family, relatives, and prominent members of the business community, including leaders from the Karachi Mobile Dealer Association. He was later buried in the Society graveyard.

Trader leaders condemned the incident as an act of terrorism and demanded that the Balochistan government and relevant authorities take immediate action to arrest the perpetrators. They also noted that no government officials had contacted the bereaved family to offer condolences.
