A Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has been formed to probe a recent explosion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's tribal districts. Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Cheema announced that a general threat alert had been issued prior to the incident. Alert police officers intercepted the attacker at a gate, who then detonated explosives, causing casualties among the police but averting a larger attack.
