Iranian Speaker Warns US Against Violating Agreement

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, has officially ratified the memorandum of understanding with the United States, calling it a significant development achieved through sincere efforts. In a statement, he noted that while his personal opinion differed, he approved the deal based on national interest and assurances from the Iranian president and the chairman of the National Security Council.

Meanwhile, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf reiterated warnings of a “strong and decisive response” to any violation of the agreement or imposition of excessive demands. In a social media post, Ghalibaf said the Supreme Leader had tasked him with ensuring full implementation and that Iran would not hesitate to act against any bad faith or broken promises from the opposing side.

Planned talks between the United States and Iran, scheduled for Friday in Switzerland to discuss the implementation of a recent peace agreement, have been cancelled.
