Latest Updates
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed its naval and aerospace forces jointly targeted 85 locations, including US military installations in Bahrain and Kuwait, using missiles and drones.
According to a statement from the IRGC, the operation specifically targeted the headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and the Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.
The IRGC stated these strikes were in response to what it described as a US violation of a ceasefire and the Islamabad Agreement. The operation reportedly followed alleged US airstrikes earlier on July 8, 2026, on coastal and civilian areas in Iran’s Hormozgan Province and Mahshahr, which Tehran termed a retaliatory response.
The IRGC characterized the attack as an initial response, asserting Iran’s right to respond forcefully to any actions threatening its sovereignty and national security. The statement also accused the United States of attempting to undermine the significance of the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, through airstrikes.
There has been no immediate official response from the United States, Bahrain, or Kuwait. The reported strikes, along with the extent of any damage or casualties, could not be independently verified.
