TEHRAN – Federal Interior Minister Senator Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Iran for high-level meetings with the Iranian leadership to discuss bilateral relations and the regional situation following the landmark US-Iran peace agreement.

Upon his arrival in Tehran, Naqvi was received by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. During their meeting, they discussed the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ and the next steps in the peace process. The visit comes a day after planned follow-up talks between the US and Iran in Switzerland were cancelled.

Naqvi, who also traveled to Mashhad, is scheduled to meet his Iranian counterpart and other officials. His visit is part of Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and promote dialogue. This is one of several trips the interior minister has made to Tehran in recent months in support of regional diplomacy.
