India in Talks with UAE to Sell BrahMos and Akashteer Defence Systems
India is in talks with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the potential sale of several of its flagship defence systems, including the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile and the Akashteer air defence system. According to sources with direct knowledge of the matter, the discussions are in the initial stages but are progressing quickly.
The talks come as the UAE steps up its arms procurement to enhance its defence capabilities following recent regional conflicts. The BrahMos missile is jointly developed by India and Russia, and any sale to a third country would require approval from Moscow.
The potential deal is seen as evidence of tightening strategic ties between India and the UAE. Some Indian government sources reportedly view the deepening partnership as a counter to the recent defence pact between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
