A court in Rawalpindi has adjourned the bail hearing for Zeeshan Arshad, the primary suspect in the murder of digital designer Hina Javed, until September 14.
During the hearing on Friday, Additional District and Sessions Judge Naseer Ahmed expressed strong displeasure over the absence of the Station House Officer (SHO) and the investigating officer. The court noted that the investigating officer had gone to Lahore instead of presenting the case record and ordered the SHO to produce it at the next hearing.
The judge also addressed a procedural issue involving two separate powers of attorney filed by different lawyers for the accused, ordering that they be sent to the jail superintendent for clearance. The court described the case as "highly sensitive" and high-profile, stating that no irregularities would be tolerated.
It was also confirmed that former High Court judge Shah Khawar will represent Hina Javed's family in the case.
