Hezbollah Attack Kills Four Israeli Soldiers in Southern Lebanon

Four Israeli soldiers, including a battalion commander, were killed in southern Lebanon after their tank was struck in an attack claimed by Hezbollah. The incident occurred near Kfar Tibnit during an operational activity. The Israeli military identified one of the casualties as 32-year-old Lieutenant Colonel Dor Gedalia Ben Simhon, commander of the 401st Armored Brigade’s 52nd Battalion.

The attack drew a harsh response from Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who stated that “all of Lebanon should burn” and that “for every tear of an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers should cry.”

Following the incident, the Israeli military launched extensive airstrikes across southern and eastern Lebanon, hitting what it described as over 80 Hezbollah targets. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least 18 people have been killed and 33 wounded in Israeli strikes since Friday morning. The escalation continued with a separate Hezbollah drone attack that injured five more Israeli soldiers in the same region.
