Heavy rain & thunderstorms expected in Punjab

More rain, gusty winds, and potential hailstorms are expected across Lahore and various parts of Punjab through Sunday night and Monday, with occasional breaks. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) attributes the weather to a westerly system over the country’s upper and central regions, combined with moisture entering from the Arabian Sea.

The forecast applies to numerous cities including Rawalpindi, Murree, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalnagar. Daytime temperatures in Lahore are expected to range between 40-42°C on Monday. In the last 24 hours, rain and thunderstorms occurred in Lahore and isolated areas, with Islamabad’s Saidpur area receiving 28mm of rain and Murree receiving 22mm.
