French Woman Rescued from Abuse in Khyber District

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police rescued a 54-year-old French national and her four children from a house in Bara, Khyber District, on June 18, arresting her husband on allegations of domestic abuse. The raid was conducted after the woman submitted a written complaint alleging she and her children had been subjected to physical torture and wrongful confinement for the past 12 years.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under sections of the Pakistan Penal Code and the KP Domestic Violence against Women Act. The woman, who married a local resident in 2014, and her children have been moved to a secure police facility in Peshawar.
