The federal government is set to announce revised petrol prices in Pakistan on Friday night, July 10, with new rates for petrol and diesel to take effect from July 11. This review comes amidst rising global oil rates, influenced by escalating tensions in the Middle East. Pakistan operates on a weekly review mechanism for petroleum product prices.

Global oil prices saw an increase on Thursday, driven by renewed US military action against Iran, which has intensified concerns regarding energy supplies and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Brent crude rose by 88 cents, or 1.13 percent, to $78.90 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude increased by 83 cents, or 1.13 percent, reaching $74.35 per barrel. This upward trend followed a rally on Wednesday, spurred by reports of US military strikes in Iran.

Currently, the price of Petrol (Super/Euro 5) in Pakistan is Rs297.53 per litre, High-Speed Diesel (HSD) is Rs309.50 per litre, and High-Octane (Euro 5) is Rs340.00 per litre. These prices have been effective since July 4, 2026, following a slight decrease. Despite fluctuations in international crude oil prices, market experts anticipate that domestic petrol prices will remain unchanged in the upcoming weekly review, as recent global movements are not considered significant enough to warrant an immediate revision.
