Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has described the Eid-ul-Adha period as a “major challenge” for the city’s administration, with all municipal bodies remaining active for five days to manage the post-sacrifice cleanup. Speaking to the media after Eid prayers, he outlined the city’s plan for disposing of animal offal.
Three dedicated collection points have been established for the disposal of remains, which is the responsibility of the Solid Waste Board. The mayor noted that 98 tons of offal were disposed of last year, with a higher amount anticipated this year. He urged citizens to use the 1128 helpline to report any areas where animal remains have not been collected.
