A concerning trend has emerged in Rawalpindi and Islamabad this Eid ul Azha, where sacrificial meat donated to professional beggars is reportedly being resold in local markets. Groups are allegedly collecting large quantities of meat door-to-door and then selling it at informal hubs, such as the area around Jamia Masjid Road in Rawalpindi, for significantly lower than market rates.

Reports indicate beef is being sold for Rs 500-800 per kilogram and mutton for Rs 1,000-1,500 per kilogram. The trade also includes sacrificial by-products, with trotters (paya) and other items being sold, turning a charitable act into a controversial commercial enterprise.
