Earthquake Tremors Felt in Balochistan

Following recent seismic activity in Balochistan, the local administration in the Musa Khel district has issued an update regarding the earthquake situation in the area.

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Kohlu district of Balochistan on Saturday, the third tremor to affect the region in two days. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre reported its epicentre was about 40 kilometres north of Kohlu at a depth of 15 kilometres. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage from this latest quake.

The new tremor followed a stronger, 5.1-magnitude earthquake on Friday that caused injuries and property damage. According to local authorities, at least three people, including a child, were injured when house walls collapsed in the Kingri area of Musa Khel district. Nearly 70 houses were also reported to have sustained partial damage.

The 5.1-magnitude quake originated about 60 kilometres northeast of Kohlu. Authorities have advised residents to remain alert for possible aftershocks.
