Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Addresses National Event

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has stated that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is bringing the two nations closer both economically and legally. Addressing a four-day international training program organized by the Ministry of Law, Dar highlighted CPEC as the flagship project of Pakistan-China economic cooperation.

He described the bilateral relationship as a unique example in international diplomacy, built upon a foundation of mutual respect, trust, and brotherhood. Dar noted that over the past 75 years, this partnership has stood the test of time, with both countries consistently supporting each other’s core interests through every challenge. The leadership of both Pakistan and China has been instrumental in strengthening these ties, he added.

Focusing on the project’s evolution, the deputy prime minister explained that the second phase of CPEC is centered on industrialization, agricultural development, and enhancing various economic sectors.

Dar also reflected on Pakistan’s historical role in international diplomacy, recalling how the country acted as a mediator between the United States and Iran 47 years ago, successfully facilitating negotiations that led to a ceasefire. He affirmed that Pakistan continues its diplomatic efforts to seek sustainable solutions to conflicts.

Expressing serious concern over certain countries delaying agreements, the foreign minister emphasized that respect for and implementation of international institutions are essential for guaranteeing global peace. He also commented on Pakistan’s bilateral relations, describing ties with Azerbaijan as strong and noting that relations with Bangladesh are progressing with warmth.
