CAIRO – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Cairo on Saturday to participate in a quadrilateral meeting of foreign ministers from Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye.

The meeting, dubbed the ‘R-4’ framework, is the fourth of its kind and will focus on regional developments, peace, security, and stability. According to the Foreign Office, the ministers will build on the outcomes of previous meetings and discuss ways to strengthen cooperation in areas of shared interest.

On the sidelines of the summit, Dar is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts and will also call on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The Foreign Office stated that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye, and the R-4 framework reflects a shared commitment to coordinated efforts for regional peace and prosperity. In March, Dar hosted a similar four-nation moot in Islamabad focused on the Middle East crisis.
