Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal filed a defamation suit against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Murad Saeed. The suit was in response to allegations made by Saeed, during his time as a federal minister, accusing Iqbal of receiving Rs 70 billion in illegal commissions related to the Multan-Sukkur Motorway Project. The case was heard in a district and sessions court in Islamabad. On Saturday, the court delivered its verdict, finding that Saeed had failed to substantiate his claims.
