Controversial Comments Regarding India

Pakistan and India exchanged sharp rebukes over the Jammu and Kashmir dispute during a United Nations Security Council session on Friday. Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, called for a just settlement of the long-standing issue in accordance with UNSC resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

In response, India’s envoy accused Pakistan of misusing UN platforms for “divisive political interests” and asserted that the territory will always remain an integral part of India. A Pakistani diplomat, exercising the right of reply, countered that Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognised dispute, accusing India of human rights violations and sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan.

The founder of the viral “Cockroach Janta Party” youth movement, Abhijeet Dipke, arrived in New Delhi on Saturday to lead the group’s first street protest against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. Protesters gathered near Jantar Mantar, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over issues like high youth unemployment and recurring examination paper leaks.

The movement, which has gained approximately 22 million Instagram followers since May, is seen as the largest online expression of dissent against Modi’s rule. The government has blocked the group’s X account in India, a move being challenged in court. A senior cabinet minister has accused the group of having followers from Pakistan and being an “anti-India gang.”
