Following a dominant performance by Pakistan’s spinners in the first ODI, former Australian wicketkeeper Ian Healy has criticised his country’s batsmen for their handling of spin bowling. Healy observed that Australian players have become “impatient” in the 50-over format, focusing too much on hitting boundaries rather than effectively playing spin.

Healy urged the batters to use their feet and attack the spinners, citing the late Dean Jones as a model for using aggressive footwork to nullify the spin threat. His comments came after debutant Arafat Minhas claimed five wickets, leading a spin attack that captured eight Australian wickets in total during the match.
