Clashes in Kurram and Waziristan leave 18 militants dead

Security forces killed a senior TTP commander in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including a key Afghan commander named Basir in the Shawal valley. The Central Kurram clash has been identified as infighting between the Qasim and Mumtaz Umati factions over extortion money. Separately, the Counter-Terrorism Department killed five terrorists and dismantled a hideout in Dera Ismail Khan.
