BEIJING – China has urged the United States and Iran to pursue dialogue for lasting peace, emphasizing that conflicts should be resolved through negotiation.
Chinese President Xi Jinping told US President Donald Trump that once the door to negotiations is opened, it should not be closed again. Officials in Beijing stated that the use of force is not a solution to problems and affirmed that China will continue to work towards promoting peace talks.
Additionally, China has called for the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. It has linked a resolution concerning the waterway to the implementation of a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire.
