Rawalpindi Chehlum Procession Begins from Ashiq Hussain Imambargah

The central Chehlum procession for the martyrs of Karbala is underway in Rawalpindi on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, under extensive security measures. The procession commenced from its traditional starting point, Imambargah Ashiq Hussain in Teli Mohalla. It is proceeding along its designated route, which includes Committee Chowk and College Road. Another procession, originating from Imambargah Colonel Maqbool Hussain, is set to merge with the main procession. Along the route, participants have set up 'sabeels' and 'langar'. To ensure security, authorities have deployed over 4,000 police personnel, assisted by Rangers and Elite Force commandos, with roads sealed and CCTV monitoring.
