Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb is set to present the budget before the National Assembly. The Economic Survey 2025-26, reviewing the country’s economic performance over the past year, will be released a day earlier on Tuesday, June 9.
In a related development, a crucial meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC), which was scheduled for June 3, has been postponed to facilitate further deliberations on the upcoming budget. The NEC’s approval is constitutionally required for key macroeconomic targets and the size of the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) before the budget is formally unveiled.
