The Balochistan Assembly has approved the provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 by a majority vote. A total of 98 demands for grants, amounting to Rs 1.089 trillion, were presented by Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani and subsequently passed.

The approved budget allocates Rs 797.8 billion for non-development expenditures and Rs 291 billion for the development portfolio. The opposition did not move any cut motions against the demands for grants during the session.

The Balochistan Assembly has approved a supplementary budget of over Rs119 billion for the fiscal year 2025-26 to meet urgent financial requirements before the year’s end. The budget was passed without debate after Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti requested its approval prior to discussion. No cut motions were moved by the opposition against the 46 demands for grants presented by Finance Minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani.

The supplementary budget comprises over Rs61 billion in non-development and Rs58 billion in development expenditure. Major allocations include Rs28.35 billion for the energy department, Rs12.67 billion for the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Rs18.64 billion for the Balochistan Special Development Initiative (BSDI), and Rs10.66 billion for communications and works projects.
